• Monday 7th January, Cathedral Guild Meeting at 7.30pm. Helen Kinloch will speak about a Tradecraft tour to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. She will emphasise how important Fair Trade is to the farmers who grow pineapples, sugar and cotton.

• Wednesday 9th January, Dunblane and District Gardening Club there will be a talk by our local garden expert, George Morrison, who will be giving advice on how to garden on a slope plus other hints and tips. The meeting will take place in the Leighton Room, Cathedral Halls, and starts at 2pm. Visitors will be made very welcome & charged £1.50.





Saturday 12th January , Dunblane Christian Aid Coffee Morning will be held in the Cathedral Halls on from 10 am until 12 noon with book and cake and candy stalls.


• Sunday 13th January, Forth Valley Friends of Scottish Opera. To celebrate the centenary of Benjamin Britten’s birth, Scottish Opera and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland are co-producing his A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Hugh Macdonald is coming to talk about the opera. All very welcome. 2.30 pm, Smith Art Gallery and Museum. Members £5, Visitors £6, Students £1.


• Monday 14th January, Dunblane Civic Society meets at 7:30pm in the Braeport Centre. John Harrison, will give a talk on “The Stirling Castle Palace Project”. Visitors admission £2.

Saturday 19th January, Capacitar International comes to Dunblane Cathedral Halls, 10 to 12.30 with a taster session introducing simple body-mind-spirit practices to encourage well-being: movement and meditation, breathwork, fingerholds for managing emotions, pal dan gum.
