New Orchard at Dunblane Primary School
Pupils in the Eco Club at Dunblane Primary have been busy planning their new orchard. They have tested the soil, measured out the site and drawn up a planting plan.
Dunblane Development Trust DDT
Public Toilets An Update
Following the public meeting organised in October by DDT’s Community Facilities Forum, the Council has now removed old signs to the closed toilets and has erected new signs to the 3 ‘comfort partners’.
DDT’s Environment Group has obtained a grant from
Nina Wills P7 and Alastair Coombs P4 Central Scotland Green
Network to buy 14 trees, helped by a generous donation from
Dunblane
Gardening Club. Planting day is 16th January, an exciting time for everyone involved.
Resurfacing the Path at Bridgend
It really was Community in Action in early December when more than 30 people barrowed and raked 20 tonnes of firechip to resurface the 150m path from Bridgend to the Haugh.
The Community Facilities Forum has set up a working group to look into better long term solutions to the need for
public toilets. Want to

The Old Coop Building For Sale
Dunblane Senior Citizens (DSC) has decided to put on the market the old Coop building in the High Street. DDT has been supporting their Committee for the past 12 months, working with the DSC membership to decide the future of their fund raising shop. DDT also helped the group to secure the reinstatement of the company that owns the building (it had been struck off by Companies House).
With funding from the Braes of Doune Windfarm Fund, the job was organised by DDT’s Environment Group assisted by volunteers from the Allotment Group, the Community Council, Dunblane in Bloom, the Glen Road team, QV School students, RBLS Dunblane, and the Kitching family.
‘Hopefully the building will have a bright future as a shop or restaurant’ said Richard Allan, Chair of DSC. ‘We plan to use the proceeds of the sale to subsidise the bus trips DSC organises for the Town’s older people’.
The Old Coop is for sale at o/o £95k. Contact Andrew Peel at Graham & Sibbald 463111
