The Stirling branch of Food Train celebrated its 1st birthday on 14th November 2012! Launched in Stirlingshire in 2011, this established Scottish Charity now supports 112 older people across the Stirling area including Bridge of Allan and Dunblane. Food Train provides a vital grocery shopping and delivery service to older people who are unable to do it for themselves through age related frailty, disability or ill health.

The service is wholly provided by good-hearted local volunteers, all committed to lending a helping hand to their elderly neighbours. List ‘pick-up’ is on a Monday and then shopping is freshly collected and delivered either on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Local

volunteers from Dunblane are currently involved in shopping and delivering to Food Train customers in their own home town, making their experience more worthwhile and closer to their hearts.

If you are an older person living in Dunblane and need help with your shopping, call the Food Train on 01786 450536. If you would like to fi nd out more about volunteering with Food Train, visit www.thefoodtrain.co.uk, email: stirling@thefoodtrain.co.uk or telephone Fran on Stirling 450536.
