the beauty of Saltburn to the benefit of the community. The projects which have been helped to date include Saltburn Pier, the Bandstand, Saltburn in Bloom, Christmas Lights, Valley Gardens and Hazelgrove. The committee of the Club are constantly looking at ways of improving Saltburn. The bandstand was built by Saltburn 500 Club, who organise a series of concerts throughout the summer. The latest project is arranging funding and
erection/dismantling of Saltburn Christmas Lights. A band of volunteers are meeting at 9am on 6th November to test and distribute the decorative lights, prior to qualified electricians erecting them
around the town. Anybody interested in helping can turn up on the day, or, contact Tel. No. 01287 624046. There are, currently, a few vacancies in the 500 Club and anybody interested in joining can contact the above number. The Saltburn 500 Club are working closely with Redcar & Cleveland Council, the Parish Council, the local Fire/Police Service and Ten Feet Tall with a view to making this year’s Christmas Tree light-up a great success. The official lighting-up of the Christmas Lights will take place on Saturday, 1st December at 5pm. The whole day will include free children’s entertainment, including Punch & Judy and face painting. There will be various Brass Bands playing seasonal music throughout the day. Local businesses have agreed to stay open late on that day so there will be lots to see and do.
