is a well-being pathway that caters to the needs of individuals and is a package of personalised support which includes a balance of one-to-one and group activities. Chair of Redcar & Cleveland Mind, Patricia Robson said: “We have had to face huge challenges here at Mind in the light of a 50% cut in funding from the Borough Council in just 2 years. Funding remains massively uncertain with savage cuts to services, but we are committed to delivering inclusive provision for those who need us most. “There are thousands of people across our

Hotel, Redcar, with a lot of help from his friends, have raised over £5000 for little Ruby Hodgson and her family to enable them to all go on a holiday of a lifetime. Three year old Ruby, from Redcar, was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year, but after extensive chemotherapy her latest scan was clear and now she is in full remission. Russ told Coastal View: “When we first heard the sad story about Ruby’s illness it really made us all want to do something special to help Ruby and her family through these difficult times. “The idea was to raise as much money as we could to be able to send Ruby and as many members of her family as possible, on holiday to Disneyland in Florida. We hope that the money we have raised will go a long way to doing that.” A coast to coast sponsored bike ride by Russ

and his doorman Geoff Robinson, table top sales, sponsored chest waxing and towers built from 10p pieces all contributed to the amazing amount of money Russ and his customers have raised. The RPC Nostalgia Group, which holds

its annual reunion each year in The Clarry, with members coming from all over the UK donated all its fundraising activities, ie raffle and auction to the ‘Ruby fund’ when they heard her sad story. This year they raised more than £600 and with very generous donations from RPC

he fundraising efforts made by Russ Clark, landlord of the Clarendon

member Derrick Shaw from Cardiff, and his clients, this total reached more than £1200. Allan Sutcliffe, RPC Nostalgia group’s owner spoke for all the members when he said: “It was a great pleasure to do something for this brave little girl who has gone through so much in her very short life. “We are looking forward to returning to Redcar for our 2013 reunion and seeing Ruby in the best of health.” Sally Hodgson, Ruby’s mam told Coastal

View: “It is so humbling to know that so many people are on our little girl’s side and we are very grateful to everyone who has donated this enormous amount of money to her. “We have been offered an apartment in Florida at no cost for September next year and we are hoping that we can make it a real celebration with at least eleven family members coming with us. “It will be great to see the joy on Ruby’s face

to bring some happiness to this lovely family. They deserve all the help they can get. “We are now looking forward to our next fundraising activities and are currently looking for another worthy cause in our area.”
