Whitby Pavilion. The comedian who played one half of support

band Les Alanos in Peter Kay’s sitcom will be at the Spa on Friday November 23 and then on January 25, February 22 and March 16. It features a compere who introduces three new
comedy acts. “Toby said: “I’m really looking forward to taking the Last Laugh Comedy Roadshow to the coast. I hope the shows will entertain the people of Whitby as much as it has in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire over the years. “We are looking for people who want an evening of guaranteed laughter with some up-and-coming stars of the comedy circuit. Hopefully we can attract a whole new audience and I’m sure they will be a great crowd.” The running of the Pavilion has been taken
over by Sheffi eld International Venues. General manager Helen Broadbent said: “Last Laugh Comedy is an institution in Toby’s home county of South Yorkshire so we’re delighted that he will be sharing his comedy with the people North East coast. “Bringing a name like Toby’s to the area highlights our commitment to creating a hub of entertainment for the town.”

hoppers in Saltburn can look forward to a keenly anticipated Farmers’ Market Christmas Special this year. Saltburn Farmers’ Market Christmas Special: Saturday 8 December. Hot roasted chestnuts, mulled apple juice, Christmas singers, 3-bird roasts from Ox Close Traditional Game, and stallholders dressed in Dickensian costumes bring a taste of Christmas to the popular Market’s biggest event of the year. Over 30 stalls will include Saltburn’s popular mix of fresh seasonal locally produced fruit & veg, meat & game, cheese & wine, free-range eggs, plants & herbs, cakes & fudge, pottery, wool and artworks. Just outside Sainsbury’s, near Saltburn Railway Station. Starts 9am.

altburn Learning Campus is once again hosting a Christmas Fair, this year taking place on Friday
30th November between 4.30pm and 6.30pm. It is being organised by the PTFAs of both Huntcliff School and Saltburn Primary School, who are hoping to raise funds for Performing Arts Equipment to help students’ talents soar. The anticipated arrival of Santa on his sleigh will
mark the opening of the fair at 4.25pm, which will be accompanied by the talents of Saltburn Primary School’s Choir. Inside there will be a Christmas shopping village
with stalls from local businesses as well as a Secret Christmas Gifts Room, chocolate tombola, refreshments and a Grand Raffl e. Huntcliff School students will also be acting as stallholders and offering fun and enjoyable areas with games, competitions, and Christmas cakes and crafts. The event is open to everyone with an entry fee of 50p per person.

for their Christmas Party Concert. East Rounton Village Hall, Saturday 15th December all in aid of the Butterwick Hospice. Details to be arranged and announced but we are thinking a pie and pea supper to warm ya cockles, watch this space.

olunteers at Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum at Skinningrove are working hard preparing the
museum for Santa’s Grotto which will take place on Saturday and Sunday December 1st and 2nd from 10.00am to 3pm each day. As well as their visit to Santa who will be on his
sledge in the illuminated North Drift, there will be craft activities, games, tombola, cakes, preloved toys and bric a brac. Admission is £2.50 for children and £1.50 for adults which includes a hot drink and a cake. The museum would welcome any donations of preloved toys which should be in good condition. For the rest of November the museum will be open Fridays and Saturdays 10-3. On November 17th at 2pm there will be the last in the current series of Lectures to be given by Tony and Cath Lynn on ‘Our Industrial Past’ is also keen to here from anyone who would like to volunteer with the education work, developing future events and join the enthusiastic volunteering team at the Museum.
