Its full-service televi- sion production studios, including a 16- by-9-foot high-definition screen, have served Greater Philadelphia for more than 50 years. The Dorrance H. Hamilton Public Media Commons is the physical embodiment of WHYY's commitment to community engagement. It serves as a hub of media literacy for the Philadelphia area, a gathering place for students of all ages, and a venue for meetings, events, performances and lectures.
The historic College of Physicians of Philadelphia is a truly unique and elegant venue. Its stunning Marble Rotunda is framed by majestic columns and provides a sophisticated space ideal for receptions of up to 150 people and pre-event gath- erings. Accenting the rotunda is the grand staircase, which leads to the great halls of the second floor. Its Thomson Hall is avail- able for conferences and presentations for up to 150, depending on room configura- tion and the type of event. Hutchinson Parlor boasts mahogany-paneled walls, period furnishings, portraits and fireplace for small dinners and socializing for up to 40.
Additional space at the College of Physicians includes its Gross Library, which houses what was the private col- lection of Dr. Samuel L. Gross, and pro- vides an elegant area for private meetings, luncheons, or dinners. The room centers around a mahogany conference table with seating for 22 people. A tranquil outdoor plant garden can accommodate recep- tions for up to 125, as well.
