Early October 2012, Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Philadelphia became the second LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified hotel for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants in Philadelphia. Located in the nation’s most historic square mile, Hotel Monaco serves as a unique boutique hotel with 268 guest rooms and suites, 13,000-square feet of flexible, state-of-the-art meeting space, including its 3,300-square foot Lafayette Ballroom, the Red Owl Tavern restaurant, an on site fitness center, and Stratus, the hotel's rooftop lounge for up to 250 peo- ple. The lounge also houses the smaller, more private Vapor and Mist pavilions for parties of 25-30.
Proudly unveiling one of its boldest hotels, through the Hotel Monaco, Kimpton underscored the juxtaposition of modern, whimsical design and classic, historic architecture and surroundings that pro- voke a sense of discovery. The hotel is an escape destination for all guests traveling for leisure, business, special occasions, conventions, and conferences.
The Hotel Monaco also features over 5,000-square feet of flexible meeting space on its lower level, which includes the Johannesburg North and South Rooms, Copenhagen Room, and the Shanghai Boardroom, each named after select international cities promoting cultur- al diversity with a focus on globalization. The hotel also features locally-inspired décor and artwork, such as collections of vintage silverware and antique, vintage postcards sent from Philadelphia over the past 100 years.
Creative meeting and event concept con- sultation is available at the Hotel Monaco through its dedicated meetings staff. Comprehensive multi-media and audio- visual support, wireless Internet access throughout the hotel with complimentary access for all Kimpton InTouch members, a 24-hour business center, fully equipped fitness center, and an on site restaurant are among its many offerings.
