tradesmen, pick up the laundry, make travel arrangements, buy giſts, plan events, co-ordinate theatre tickets, and much more. As long as requests are moral, ethical and legal, we will try to find a solution, do the job ourselves or find the right person to do it. Our clients are busy professionals, time-poor couples, businesses and the elderly. We look aſter their to-do list to give them more time for their work, their family and their time off.

Describe your main business achievements over the last 12 months.

We looked aſter a group of executives from IBM while they were working in Glasgow for three weeks by organising their accommodation, business requirements, restaurant bookings, transport, leisure and more. We have also increased our work for private client solicitors, whether it’s to organise house clearances, prepare a property for sale, carry out weekly checks for insurance purposes or organise any maintenance, plus any personal shopping for their clients.

What are the main priorities for your business in the next 12 months?

We are about to launch new, updated branding and I plan to continue to market to this fairly new industry. I would like to continue making our clients’ lives less stressful – if they are happy, they will continue to use our services and recommend Dickory Dock to their friends and colleagues.

What would you like to see your Chamber doing more of?

I would like the Chamber to promote more online networking and interaction between members.

Who is your business role model and why?

Mariella MacLeod, Owner. Dickory Dock Concierge

How long have you been a Chamber member?

Since 2005.

What made you first decide to join the Chamber?

I was new to Glasgow and Scotland and I have always believed that a business needs to be in contact with like-minded people. Joining the Chamber was something I had

to do. It has given me the chance to network with members, get introduced to other local businesses and gain vital information when required.

How has being a Chamber member benefited your business?

It’s given me more confidence. For most of the past six years, I have worked on my own, so knowing that I could turn to the Chamber staff if I needed some assistance or a friendly chat was a great help.

What is the role of your business?

Our role is to give people back the priceless giſt of time! How do we do this? As a personal concierge and lifestyle manager, I market our services directly to individual or corporate clients who pay us to run errands, organise

Tere are many people who have inspired me throughout my life and I have learnt a lot from them to help me in my business. Two of them are my late father, who I worked for in Malta, and Katharine Giovanni, CEO of the International Concierge & Lifestyle Management Association – the guru of our industry.

If you could be CEO of any company in the world, which one would you choose and why?

To tell you the truth, I’m not sure I can answer this question. What I do know is that I would wish to work with a group of people who are open to being creative, motivated, respectful to one another and friendly. A strong team like that can only lead to good things happening.
