Glasgow’s stewarded Nite Zone taxi ranks, which you will find on Gordon Street, Sauchiehall Street, at the Merchant City and on Byres Road. All our drivers must be registered with the Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme (PVG), introduced in 2011 to improve on the previous disclosure arrangements for people who work with vulnerable groups, including children and disabled people. Giving real peace of mind for passengers, all Glasgow Taxis drivers must satisfy these PVG scheme standards before we will employ them. In addition to these checks,

prior to being granted a licence to drive a taxi in Glasgow, all our drivers require to pass a test of their knowledge of the City. Tey are also required to undergo a council-organised training course which includes customer care and disability awareness. Our members and drivers are at

the very heart of our business and we are immensely proud of their efforts all year round in supporting Glasgow Taxis’ charity activities, such as June’s famous Glasgow Taxi Outing Fund kiddies trip to Troon as well as sporting the Prince and Princess of Wales logo on the sleeves of our professional workwear. And finally, we must mention our iconic liveried taxis. You’ll have seen Glasgow

Chamber of Commerce’s four branded cabs on the city’s streets, just as they appear on the front cover of this magazine. If you’d like your business to

benefit from similar exposure, you know where to find us (and if you don’t, just dial 0141 429 7070). May we wish all Glasgow

Chamber members all the very best for the remainder of 2012 and a very safe and enjoyable winter season when it arrives.
