New campus plans reach a big milestone
Development
City of Glasgow College is continuing to move forward with plans for a pioneering new campus with the selection of two shortlisted bidding consortia for the final stage of the new campus procurement. In November 2011, nine
consortia placed formal applications to qualify to tender for the opportunity to design and construct the £200 million campus – one of Scotland’s largest infrastructure investment projects. In March 2012, following a
detailed assessment process, the College confirmed a shortlist of three bidding consortia: BAM PPP, Glasgow Partnership for Learning and Glasgow Learning Quarter. Following detailed evaluation
of the interim bids, the College has announced which bidders will be taken forward into the next and final phase of the procurement process. Tese are BAM PPP and Glasgow Learning Quarter. Te investment will see
state-of-the-art buildings constructed on the college’s land in Glasgow’s city centre at Cathedral Street and at

the new campus will provide a high-quality and sustainable learning environment for about 40,000 students and more than 1000 members of staff, and deliver significant community benefits. Te project is financially and
strategically supported by the Scotish Funding Council and Te College Project Team is working closely with the Scotish
Futures Trust to deliver the project using the Scotish Government’s Non-Profit Distributing procurement model. Dialogue with bidders will
continue during 2012 and culminate in the selection of a preferred bidder early in 2013. Once planning consent is
achieved, construction is expected to commence in the summer of 2013, with the first stages of the new campus opening in 2015 and the final phases in 2016.

Legal services Summer of success at Anderson Strathern
While the sun may not have put a shine on life at Anderson Strathern this summer, its tender wins have more than made up for the lack of rays. The summer kicked off with tender success and
the appointment to provide legal services to the Scottish Prison Service. This was closely followed by reappointment by the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration under a two-year framework agreement to provide legal services for the Principal Reporter’s Functions.
The firm has also been successful in a competitive tender process to provide legal services to the various
directorates and agencies of the Scottish Government and to the Office of the Advocate General for Scotland under a two-year framework agreement.
