FOUR SHIRES v BUSINESS FONES 4 FORESTS CAN CHANGE THE LANDSCAPE OF THE NHS T

The climate change and healthy lives campaigns, Climate Week and NHS Forest, have today launched Fones 4 Forests at GovToday’s NHS Sustainable Development Conference. Fones For Forests is a mobile recycling scheme that plants a tree in the NHS Forest for every phone donated. Their target is to plant 5000 trees throughout the NHS Forest network to build recuperative green spaces across the country.

Fones 4 Forests gives everyone the opportunity to help create green space around our hospitals and have a positive impact on our environment. Climate Week are encouraging all of their supporters to participate alongside 100 hospitals nationwide. The scheme costs nothing to be involved and removes waste from landfill, reduces manufacturing emissions and absorbs over a tonne of CO2 (over the lifetime of the tree) for every 2 trees planted.

Barney Jenkins of Fones 4 Forests said, “We are thrilled to partner with Climate Week, if we could wish for our dream collaboration it would be with Climate Week. Fones 4 Forests aims to help patients recover quicker through access to nature as well as develop relaxing areas for NHS staff and visitors to enjoy. Together we can also help raise the issue of climate change and how we can all play our part in reducing our environmental impact.”

Individuals to Corporate businesses can get involved simply by posting their old or broken phones or satellite navigation systems to the

Freepost address or dropping them off at their local participating NHS site.

Some of the trees generated through Fones 4 Forests will be planted on the 28th March in support of the NHS Sustainability Day. A number of sites are running sustainability awareness activities throughout the day, one of which will be to plant a couple of trees in their NHS Forest.

WILL AID

Cotswold Family Law is celebrating the success of the national Will Aid campaign having raised a total of £1,000 for the Will Aid charities. Will Aid is the UK’s top charity will-writing scheme, offering anyone the opportunity to make or update their Will in return for a donation to help people in need in the UK and all over the world. As part of the Will Aid campaign we drew up basic Wills for local people without charging our usual fee.

In return for this service, the clients made a donation to Will Aid. The money raised by Cotswold Family Law of Bailes will make a real and lasting difference to the vulnerable children, families and older people with whom the Will Aid charities work.
