SIBFORD ART EXHIBITION 10th -11th March

Plans are in full swing for the 16th Sibford Art Exhibition, hosted at the village’s primary school. Alison Bell (member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors) will curate the event, with an eye to showing the best that the region’s artists have to offer.

The exhibition runs Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th March, with an invitation-only preview evening on Friday 9th from 7.30pm. Exhibitors will include firm favourites such as Eileen Gascoigne, Nic Durrant and William North but also newcomers such as Katy Hood, Ben Pritchard and Chris Prout.

Not to be outdone, children from seven local village primary schools have been invited to enter their own competition in the weeks leading up to the exhibition, on a topical theme of ‘What’s going to be special to me in 2012?’

To complete the event, there’s an extensive range of craft stalls to browse round, as well as ‘make and do’ area for the children.

SOME LIKE IT HOTTER... AT THE OXFORDSHIRE THEATRE COMPANY AND THE WATERMILL THEATRE by Richard Hurford

It’s September, 2010 and at long last funny man Jack Lemmon and the incomparable Marilyn Monroe are reunited with old friend, Tony Curtis. But how come Tony looks 30 again? Where exactly are they? Who is the stranger on the set? And what the hell is going on? This brand new, fast moving, fantasy comedy whisks the three screen icons back to their most beautiful, sexy and hilarious selves as they are forced once again to don heels and stockings and go backstage during the making of the best loved of all the classic Hollywood comedies. Daring dialogue and razor- sharp wisecracks, sparkling musical numbers and red hot jazz, join us for the most surprising comeback in movie history, starring Monroe, Curtis & Lemmon - dead, uncut and hotter than ever.
