ALAN GARDNER TALKS ABOUT HIS LOVE OF THE DIGITAL CAMERA
I’ve only had my digital SLR camera for a few years now and in the grand scheme of things I’m fairly new to photography, I’ve never been on a course and every photo I’ve taken is through trial and error.
I love the way photography is evolving with the digital era. I can spend entire evenings glued to my computer screen browsing through images on websites such as Flickr.
Photo editing isn’t for everyone, however I love what is referred to as HDR (High Dynamic Range) Images. I’ve been experimenting with HDR for a while. It’s a technique where you take multiple copies of the same image at different exposures (or levels of brightness/ contrast) then use software to stitch them together. The process enhances different details within the photo, giving it an exciting twist and sometimes making a regular image look a thousand times better.
It’s interesting to think what the future will bring, I’ll continue to carry a camera practically everywhere I go and keep looking for new photo opportunities.
