Bucking the trend in the current economic climate, the White Horse Brewery has opened a new pub - The White Horse in Banbury. The pub, which used to be known as The Buck and Bell has been completely refurbished and now features a patio garden area to the rear and 10 real ale hand pumps selling a variety of ales from local and national breweries. A range of Belgian beers will also be available and the new food menu will feature a selection of homemade dishes based on locally sourced ingredients.
The White Horse Brewery opened its first pub, The Royal Blenheim, on St Ebbes St in Oxford in 2008 and it has been a regular fixture in the Good Pub Guide ever since.
Andy Wilson, Managing Director of White Horse Brewery, said: “This is an excellent move for the brewery and emphasises our commitment to bringing quality ale to people across the region.
Our existing pub in Oxford has gone from strength to strength by selling top notch ales and locally sourced food served in a friendly environment. We are very excited to bring our philosophy and quality beers to The White Horse at Banbury Cross.”

I am writing to you in regards to a forthcoming exhibition of Olympic-related art, opening in Oxford in March as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme. By way of some background, the BT Art of Sport initiative (www.
btartofsport.com) was launched by London 2012 premier sponsor BT in 2011. Ten leading UK artists have been commissioned to produce a body of work that will contribute to the historic London 2012 Olympics.
The artists have worked closely with Team GB’s top Olympic and Paralympic athletes, drawing on the power of art to capture the mindset of these elite sportsmen and women and convey the drama and passion of this historic sporting event.
The BT Art of Sport exhibition, which will feature sculpture, painting and photography, will open at Oxford’s O3 Gallery on Saturday 31st March.
