IN POLE POSITION FOR 2012
As the new motorsport season gets underway these are exciting times for Automobile Racing Club, a local company launching a unique new clothing brand.
Motorsport!! Compelling, addictive, at times glamorous with the highs of expectation and celebration of hard earned success after the lows of frustrating disappointment and the tales of what should have been!
After 2 years in the sport spent at the entry levels to the karting world, those are already the lessons learned by Colin and Sarah Graham, Banbury based founders of a new motorsport leisurewear offer, Automobile Racing Club (
www.autoraceclub.
co.uk).
In April, they will embark year at National level in the Formula Kart Stars British championships. It was his involvement in the karting world that inspired Colin and Sarah to develop their new clothing brand aimed at motorsport lovers.
“We recognised immediately that the motorsport leisurewear offer was generally either massively expensive or of very poor quality” says Colin, “ And with a career spent range building and designing product for some of the UKs leading high street names we felt well placed to develop a brand of our own” “We just couldn’t understand why it had to be so expensive to buy good quality motorsport leisurewear in 2012” said Colin. “We believe you can deliver both great design and affordable prices”.
Automobile Racing Club was produced in direct partnership with a Turkish manufacturer who shared the vision, and was developed with an attention
amazing heritage and imagery of British motorsport in the 50s and 60s. Such was the reaction at the January Autosport show launch, that contracts have already been signed with 3 high produce own label offers.
“ The reaction to our range was amazing” adds Colin, “not only from the public who loved the styling and branding, but also the Motorsport trade, who seemed to recognise that we were providing a combination of design and quality at a price not currently seen in the sport”.
Whilst recognising that this is early days for the brand, the start for this new venture could hardly have been more promising. “We’re in a unique position really” added Sarah, “by launching our own A.R.C range, we are able to showcase our manufacturing capability as demand.
With a striking brand and plans for further range development, as well as shows at Silverstone and Goodwood already on the agenda, it certainly looks like an action packed year is fast approaching for the team at Automobile Racing Club.
