Indigenous has introduced its new Japanese Hinoki bath tub to its exclusive Bathroom Collection. Handcrafted from sustainable hinoki timber, the deep-sided tub features a stunning rectangular contemporary design. It is available in a range of sizes - with both straight and sloped ends - and creates a stunning ‘zen-like’ style statement in both indoor and outdoor bathing areas.
Lemon-scented and lightly toned, hinoki is an incredibly water resistant timber that has a durable straight grain. Oil for the hinoki tree is used in aroma-therapy preparations and its healing qualities are widely acknowledged; using the prized timber to create a bath tub or ‘Ofuro’ harnesses these benefits and brings a spa-like sense of wellbeing to the bathroom.

A new range of Riverstone accessories are also available for the bathroom. Handcrafted from volcanic rock, the range spans from small pots and soap dishes to plates, platters and flower pots. All items have a distinct rugged exterior finish and polished inner surface. They provide both practical and stunning additions to the kitchen and bathroom, especially when used alongside Indigenous’ Riverstone baths and basins.
All Riverstone accessories are made from transformed stone
thrown from deep in the earth’s crust; basalt boulders originating from the active Marapi volcano, in Central Java, are washed down the river during the rainy season, by torrents of water, before becoming lodged down-stream. They are then selected, according to size, and crafted by hand.
