MARCH 2012 v FOUR SHIRES 3
from the
editor...
Look at our glorious cover picture this month taken by talented photographer Martyn Ferry. These wonderfully vibrant daffodils are, like snowdrops, harbingers of spring and one feels that the warmer weather is just around the corner. March 1st is, of course, St David’s Day and whilst the
leek might be more emblematic for the Welsh, the daffodil paints a far prettier picture on our cover!
Our ‘new look’ magazine seems to have gone down well and people seem to like the brighter, modern look, although a couple of readers did comment that small type over a coloured background can be a little hard to distinguish. We have taken your comments on board and, hopefully, made a few changes to this month’s journal.
We are packing at the moment as, hopefully, we are about to move house. As everyone continually tells me: ‘it is one of the most stressful things you can do’, so I won’t add to the drama by going on about it here. However, whilst looking through uncovered scrapbooks with our nippers, one of their friends piped up - ‘wow, this is your facebook’! I wonder if the idea of sticking pictures in a scrapbook has ever crossed their minds? Would it be totally out of the question for children to even consider writing a diary? I suspect updating their facebook has made that discipline very obsolete too!
Congratulations go to Cathy and Crian Black. Cathy recently gave birth to Mael Jack Archie Black who weighed in at an impressive seven pounds eleven ounces. We can’t wait to see him Cathy, is he any good at sub-editing?
