2. 1 mile/1.5km Once over the ford the road climbs gently to a fork. Turn right for Thorntonhall and follow the quiet road, the cycle enhanced further by the wonderful big views opening out across East Renfrewshire. The road leads to another junction.
3. 1.75 miles/2.75km Turn left onto a wider road and climb gently into the leafy village of Thorntonhall, passing several impressive stone villas. Continue through the village for just over 0.25 miles to reach Waterfoot road, signposted for Waterfoot.
4. 2 miles/3.25km Turn left and cycle through charming countryside enjoying great views of Glasgow and Neilston Pad. Once past North Hill of Dripps the road bends tightly left then right (again, keep an eye out for traffic) before wending past Townhead of Dripps and Meikle Dripps farms. The road then descends gradually, swinging left (with lovely views extending over Busby and Clarkston) before climbing steadily past several large houses. Continue by a road on the left signposted for Eaglesham (this road can be easily followed back to Eaglesham although it will require a steep climb into the

village), descending into Waterfoot passing by Dripps Mill, and crossing the White Cart by a lovely old stone bridge. The road culminates at Glasgow Road (B767).
5. 3.5 miles/5.5km Turn left onto Glasgow Road, and cycle for 0.5 miles, children may wish to cycle on the pavement, to reach Floors Road. Turn right from where Floors Road climbs gradually, with superb views opening out towards the Highlands. At the top of Floors Road turn left at a roundabout onto Humbie Road, turn right at a second roundabout, go underneath the A726 and climb to a third roundabout. Turn left and here a final, great run descends into Eaglesham at Glasgow Road. Turn right to return to Holehouse Road.
