Unique Features: The architectural layout of the center fea- tures an open-space design that is com- plemented by a high ceiling, which pro- vides ideal acoustics. The center includes state-of-the-art lighting, sound reinforce- ment, design and audio-visual support, with flexible seating arrangements, and can be tailored to group specifications. The multi-use facility has, in just its first year, hosted a variety of events including banquets, exhibits and concerts, lectures and other special events, such as gradua- tions and galas.
Construction News: The Morgantown Event Center opened in April 2010. Since that time, the venue has welcomed trade shows, regional meetings and events, concerts featuring interna- tional audiences, professional boxing, commencement ceremonies, weddings and other significant events.
“The Morgantown Event Center is a tremendous accomplishment in Morgantown’s Wharf District, fulfilling the original vision of a true public-private partnership to redevelop and reinvest along the Mon River,” notes Dan Watts, general manager of the Waterfront Place Hotel and Morgantown Event Center. “With our unique geographic locale and strong partnership with the City of Morgantown, this amazing facility is a true destination for visitors and meeting planners, and is among the top two largest such conference facilities in the entire state of West Virginia.”
