Unique Features: Pittsburgh was named by National Geographic Traveler as one of the world’s top 20 great places to visit in 2012. One reason is its unique downtown architec- ture along the Allegheny River that includes the environmentally-smart “green” David L. Lawrence Convention Center, the first convention center in the world to receive a Gold LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. In addition, the building’s architectural design offers great views, open terraces and a suspend- ed roof structure.
Construction News: In the Fall of 2011, a living roof was installed on the center’s third floor South Terrace. In summer 2011, Riverfront Plaza was completed, which connects the build- ing to Three Rivers Heritage Trail.
