: Innovative sun protection solutions is a trendsetter in

ventilation and solar shading. Since 1909 this independent

family company has developed and manufactured innovative products and solutions, which improve the living conditions of people and at the same time cut energy costs. From its base in Maidstone, Kent, RENSON®

solutions to the UK construction market and offers architects, speci- fiers, developers, fabricators and installers a wide range of innovative systems. Product ranges include window ventilators, louvres and con- tinuous louvre systems, as well as sun protection elements with alu- minium blades and fabric screens. Through the intelligent combination of ventilation and sun protection, RENSON®

offer energy-efficient con-

cepts for a healthy, comfortable indoor climate – creating healthy spaces! An independent family company The Belgian company, RENSON®

,

was founded by Polydore Renson in 1909. At that time, RENSON®

spe-

cialised in parts for opening and closing doors and windows, as well as metal windows. In 1950, RENSON®

moved from

steel towards aluminium. Since 1982, Paul Renson has been managing the company with a strong interest in R&D, innovation, marketing and communication. Today, RENSON® has changed from an aluminium pro- cessing company to a knowledge based company. RENSON®

counts

about 460 employees and has grown constantly during recent years. This growth is based on a couple of elements:

• No speed limit on innovation (extensive R&D department)

• Service and quality direct to the customers (manufacturing plant in Maidstone)

• Creating healthy spaces (saving on energy consumption without putting your health at risk).

Innovative solutions RENSON®

stands for innovative solutions. Its Fixscreen® is the first

screen in the world that is truly wind- resistant and insect proof. It uses an ingenious zip system securely fas- tened to the edge of the screen, which is then permanently held in the side guides of the system, making the screen wind-resistant in every position. The screen is equipped with a bottom rail made of extruded alu-

minium and provided with a rubber seal to close perfectly with the threshold. This makes the screen insect repellent when fully closed. Rattling and ripped screens belong in the past. The Fixscreen®

is delivered with fibreglass or Soltis® fabrics with a

very high sun protection factor. It can also be delivered with insect screen or blackout fabric. The flexible product range includes models that are suitable for both domestic and commercial buildings. It is available in three sizes: Fixscreen®

85 for

most standard windows and in ren- ovation projects; Fixscreen®

100 for

glazing up to 4m wide and 2.7m high or 3m wide and 3.5m high; and Fixscreen®

150, which will cope with

extremely large glazed surfaces up to 22m² (maximum width of 6m in one piece, one cover). This Fixscreen®

has undergone an

extensive range of tests to ensure that the product performs to the highest possible standards. The wind tunnel tests at the Von Karman Institute for fluid dynamics proved the screen has a windtightness for wind loads up to 120km/h (guarantee up to 80km/h) – report nr. EAR0410. The screen has also undergone dura- bility tests at the WTCB – report nr. 651 XE823 CAR4139. As a manufac- turer, RENSON®

provides a guaran-

tee of 7 years on the Fixscreen® technology and 5 years on the rest of the system. Today, RENSON®

introduces the Fixscreen® 100EVO, which offers the

best in quality, design and ease of installation. The incorporation of the Connect & Go technology allows the fabric roller to be installed and removed very easily: no more prob- lems with electrical cables when securing the cassette or replacing the fabric or motor. Furthermore, the cable slot in the side channels allows the electrical cable to be concealed quickly and easily. New aluminium side covers provide extra stability and can be coated together with the profiles for greater aesthetic appeal.
