Automatic savings with FAAC A140 door operator FAAC’s new energy saving A140 AIR sliding door automation system is currently being trialled by a major UK retailer. The intelligent A140 AIR can achieve energy savings of up to 40 per cent compared with standard automatic door systems, helping businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and save money. The A140 features an inbuilt monodirectional sensor, which identifies the walking direction of the pedestrian so that the doors only fully open if

a person is walking towards them. Unlike standard automatic doors, the A140 uses information from the sensor to optimise opening/closing times to reduce air loss and energy consumed by internal air-conditioning and heating systems.

Artistic roof for Tate Britain Sika Liquid Plastics has provided a Decothane Delta 25 system to coat the lead rotunda roof at the renowned Tate Britain gallery in London, a particularly complex project due to the diff- icult detailing over the existing lead rolls. “Decothane Delta 25 is the ideal solution for this type of project,” comments Steve Leech, national sales manager at Sika Liquid Plastics: “Its liquid application means it can be easily applied over all complex detail areas when compared to a traditional sheet material, and

the finished look is very similar to that of the original lead allowing the building to maintain its aesthetic appearance.”

WPL improves rainwater harvesting range

WPL Ltd is pleased to announce that they have added the Platin tank to their range of rainwater harvesting products. This low profile, light tank is extremely easy to install and requires minimal excavation due to its shallow depth. The Platin tank can be installed above or below ground and is ideally suited to high water table (HWT) areas and rocky ground. Furthermore, it is suitable for both pedestrian and vehicle loading (version dependant) with the lid sitting flush with the ground. This latest addition to WPL’s product offering is suitable for garden and home systems and comes in four sizes; 1,500l, 3,000l, 5,000l and 7,500l. The Platin replaces the Rondus as it is very easy to install and the larger tank cover allows for easier main- tenance. The Platin sits within the RainRetain Premium Domestic category along- side the Carat tank, which is used in home and garden situations not in a HWT area. The Home systems use cutting edge pump and filter technology and the intelligent pump automatically switches between mains and rainwater as required.
