Great
Days Out!
Our guide to great days out takes in creatures great and small as well as feathered friends; gentle strolls to action packed adventure; wooded pathways to sparkling rivers.
A trip around the award winning Denbies Wine Estate is both educational and enjoyable – as is the quaint Hogs Back Brewery nestled in the Surrey Hills.
We are justifiably proud in having the UK’s largest agricultural event taking place in Surrey every Spring Bank Holiday, when the Surrey County Show brings the best of British livestock, international entertainers and local produce together for a fantastic family day out.
With so much to do in Surrey, why not turn your day out into a weekend – and for more itinerary ideas for all ages visit

Just two miles from Farnham, Birdworld nestles on the edge of the ancient Alice Holt Forest and is home to over 600 birds set in 26 acres of beautiful landscaped grounds. Ranging from parrots, penguins, toucans and flamingos to owls, pelicans, ducks and birds of prey, you will be amazed at the variety.
In addition to birds, Birdworld is also home to the Jenny Wren Farm where children can enjoy meeting all manner of animals such as pigs, sheep, rabbits, mice and even reindeer! Also visitors can enjoy a visit to Underwater World with its tropical fish, Piranhas and Crocodiles.
With well-stocked gift shops, restaurants and refreshment kiosks, all of your needs are well catered for and for garden lovers there is easy access to the adjoining Forest Lodge garden Centre.
Although it is a large site, all paths are flat with plenty of seating and it is therefore ideal for all ages to enjoy. Daily events include penguin feeding, flying displays and animal handling at the farm and for regular visitors; a very popular membership scheme offers some great opportunities.
