Shalford Mill is a wonderful hidden gem in the quiet backwater of Shalford sitting across the clear water of the Tillingbourne stream.

The National Trust runs regular guided tours of this well preserved early 18th century water mill. The building has remained almost unaltered since ceasing operations in 1914. Although the water wheel no longer functions, you can trace the remarkable journey of grain around the mill before it was bagged up and carted off to the bakers.
