The James Hockey & Foyer Galleries form an integral part of the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham. Annually, the galleries show up to 12 exhibitions providing a balanced programme of cutting edge art, design and media, academic research, and exhibitions of work by students and graduates. Along with internal and community work the exhibitions’ programme is managed in order to challenge, encourage, inspire and nurture the galleries’ various audiences.


The UCA Sculpture Park is maintained by the James Hockey & Foyer Galleries in the adjacent grounds and green spaces surrounding the University. Open to the public all year round, the UCA Sculpture Park exhibits works by sculptors with a national reputation, and by graduates and students of the University.

Now in its’ sixth year, Guildford’s most established and respected independent live music venue books an eclectic and varied programme of music and events. A 300 capacity venue, The Boileroom has a national presence as a destination venue for emerging touring acts aswell as well-established stalwarts like Ed Sheeran, The Noisettes and The Blockheads, at affordable prices. An in-house noodle bar provides hot, freshly prepared dishes served from the bar, as well as bar snacks and an extensive cocktail menu. The Boileroom works with the local community to host all ages events, so that young music lovers can see their favourite bands and be inspired. The Boileroom is the first port of call for fans of music to come and visit.


Situated on the banks of the River Wey, The Electric Theatre was originally an electricity works and is the home of amateur and community arts in Guildford. The Theatre also offers an eclectic range of professional entertainment from drama, music and film to family events and even comedy nights in the Café Bar.
