Step back in time and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a masterpiece of an 18th century landscape garden. Garden enthusiasts will recognise some of the famous names in garden history that were involved in Claremont’s development – Sir John Vanbrugh, Charles Bridgeman, William Kent and ‘Capability’ Brown.

At the centre of the garden is a serpentine lake, home to a variety of waterfowl and overlooked by a grass amphitheatre and grotto. There are many hidden features to enjoy as well as the wider garden walks and a children’s play area.

The 49 acre garden offers a fantastic experience for all ages that has been enjoyed by many generations. Enjoy a gentle stroll around the lake or take in the panoramic views as once enjoyed by Clive of India.

Any visit to Claremont is incomplete without a trip to the Tearoom with its freshly baked scones, tempting homemade cakes and seasonal lunches.

Check web site or telephone for admission closing times.

Inside explore the world’s largest collection of composer related keyboards upon which J.C.Bach, Chopin, Mahler & Elgar, to mention a few, have played. Lunchtime recitals using these instruments take place on Wednesdays from March to June and in October and November. Evening concerts and tours of the Cobbe Collection also take place during the season.

The shop and licensed tearoom serving coffee, lunches and teas can be found in the lovely cobbled courtyard, both open the same days as the house. Guided tours on Thursdays, max 30.

Built in the reign of Elizabeth I, Loseley Park stands in ancient Surrey Parkland with stunning views of the North Downs. Still the home of the More-Molyneux family, it is remarkably unchanged since 1562 when Sir William More laid the first stones. From the house itself, where the intricate panelling in the Great Hall was once in Henry VIII’s Nonsuch Palace, to the elegant Walled Garden with its award winning rose garden, flower, herb, vegetable and white gardens and delightful moat walk, Loseley Park is a place to visit and relax in one of England’s friendliest historic homes.

Additional attractions include a restaurant/refreshment area, gift shop, plant sales and a stunning lake walk.
