Leatherhead Gateway to the Surrey Hills

The picturesque town of Leatherhead, surrounded by greenery, is located at the gateway to the Surrey Hills where the rolling chalk hills of the North Downs meets the Thames lowlands. The River Mole is just a few minutes from the town centre ensuring peace and relaxation can be found, if needed, after a busy day shopping or exploring. Why not take a leisurely stroll along the riverside path; if you are lucky enough you may spot some of Surrey’s fantastic wildlife along the way.

There are many hidden gems within Leatherhead and many of the buildings with architectural or historic interest are mentioned on the town’s Heritage Trail. The Leatherhead Theatre being an example, lies at the heart of the town and offers a full cultural programme to keep everyone entertained.

Leatherhead is easily visited by train from London, is close to the M25 and a short driving distance from the airports of Heathrow and Gatwick.

The London 2012 Olympic Games Road Cycling Race is coming through Leatherhead on 28th and 29th July 2012 and, with many different events and festivals now firmly established on the calendar, there is plenty of family fun to be enjoyed throughout the year. Why not coincide your visit with one?
