A series of interactive exhibits and displays allow you to discover the fascinating story of Surrey’s secret waterway, one of the first British rivers to be made navigable. See where the huge Wey barges were built and climb aboard Reliance, one of the last surviving barges. Children’s trails, family events and guided walks run throughout the season.

Educational visits by arrangement
Visit Guildford Castle and head to the top of the Great Tower for a 360 degree panoramic view of Guildford and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
In 2003 – 2004 the Great Tower was conserved and the original crenulations and other features were discovered. A roof and floor were re-instated at first floor level, which has made the building more accessible to visitors. The Tower contains a model of the original castle circa 1300, and interpretation panels tracing its history to the present day. There is a small gift shop on the ground floor of the castle.
From its commanding hilltop position, Guildford Cathedral is an imposing landmark. Inside there is tranquility, peace, simple beauty, light and space.
Our guides offer a warm welcome or just space for contemplation. Come and appreciate this remarkable place of worship, brought to life most weekdays at 17:30 with the unique and uplifting experience of Choral Evensong.
Regular events and art exhibitions are held in the Cathedral. Visit our website for more information.
Additional facilities include a gift shop and modern restuarant, a large car and coach park with free parking, and full facilities for disabled visitors
