their lives. Son Jake has just completed four years of high school varsity golf and graduated, continuing his golf in college. Daughter Laney is now a high school sophomore and playing varsity volleyball; she is also playing with one of the top clubs in the country. I am still actively coaching for TCA Volleyball, and still find time to relax here and there, when not hosting my annual Ehlers Cup golf fundraiser and directing my middle school volleyball tournaments.”

1980 Current parents Diane and Eliot Krieger recently returned from a week’s vacation in Jamaica. Diane writes, “I wanted to share a photo and an anecdote that might be of interest to alumni. On our last day at the Beaches Negril resort, we had dinner at Kimono, a teppan-style specialty restaurant on the resort grounds. Our group included our two sons, Chadwick rising ninth-grader Adam Krieger and Chadwick rising seventh-grader Seth Krieger, my husband Eliot Krieger, and my parents, Robert and Marianne Richter. Sitting at the same teppan chef station with us were another family of four, a father, a mother, and their two sons. Eliot introduced himself and asked the other

father where they came from. ‘New Jersey,’ the man said. ‘How about you?’ ‘Los Angeles,’ Eliot said. ‘What part?’ the man asked. ‘Palos Verdes,’ Eliot said. ‘Do you know the area?’ ‘Oh yeah, I grew up in the area,’ the man said. ‘I graduated from the Chadwick School.’ We were all stunned! What a crazy coincidence, and what a very small world. Te man we were having dinner with told us his name is David Gold, and that we should be sure to look for his name in the trophy case in the gym. His basketball team had won an important championship back in the day. We chatted pleasantly for the rest of the
evening, coming up with several teachers he remembered, who are still here. He remembered Charlton Jackson ’88 as a fellow student, as well as Laura Hudson Abrahamson ’81. We snapped his picture, thinking it would be a fun submission to the Chadwick alumni office.”

I taught Calculus I, II, and III, and assumed many collateral duties including assistant JV basketball coach, leadership and ethics facilitator, honor remediator, calculus tutor for varsity athletes, member of the minority recruiting outreach program, and international programs officer representative. In August 2007, I began my second career as a math teacher and basketball/baseball coach at the Indian Creek Upper School (an independent school) in Crownsville, Maryland. In June 2008, I moved my family to Eagle, Idaho, to live closer to my parents and to teach at North Star Public Charter School. During the past three years at North Star, I built and led the International Baccalaureate math program and the boys varsity basketball program. “As of August 1, 2011, I will be the
