ENERGY SOLUTIONS AGAIN THE TOP FOCUS FOR LIW VISITORS
Energy efficiency was again a major theme for visitors to LIW as they looked for advice and products to reduce energy consumption and find cost efficient options for running larger pools. Calorex heat pumps provided a one-stop information source and offered project by project advice on how to claim financial support through routes such as Carbon Trust low interest loans and the Enhanced Capital Allowances Scheme.
“Commercial pool and spa operators can cut costs by up to a half if they include Delta units in their energy efficient equation,” said Richard Carrington, Calorex Heat Pumps Managing Director. The three day show saw a steady stream of visitors to the Calorex stand.
“There is an increasing awareness about heat pumps and the role they can play for the larger pools and we’ve had a good response at the show to what we have to offer.” Isobel Rickards Sanger, Managing Director of Elite Spas said: “We’ve met a lot of people we already know through the trade and through the industry that it’s nice to catch up with. We’re also hoping to do a little bit more business with them as well if they’re not currently dealers of ours.

“The atmosphere was really good actually there are lots of things going on buzzing around. We all network together as the spa market is a very close industry. So we’re all already very well linked and connected but it’s nice to get the chance to meet up with people who maybe you don’t get the chance to see from one day to the next and that’s been good.”
Hippo Leisure’s Marketing Director Claire Mollet said LIW showed again that local authority pools were looking for revenue generating ideas when it comes to what they offer the public. “It has been good for us. We’ve seen a lot of people and they’ve been very interested in what we have to offer and how water games and toys will improve revenue and offer fun and enjoyment. Hippo Leisure continued its campaign to bring fun, pizzazz and jollity to the commercial pool market as it showed its range of water games and entertainments.

There’s a lot of exciting opportunities in the market place for commercial pool managers and leisure centre managers to appeal to youngsters of all ages with water games and toys which will increase revenue and provide fun and excitement in the water.” Chris Rinder, Head of Sales at the Amateur Swimming Association said: “It’s really essential that we’re here. So many of our clients come here whether they are operators or other business to business contacts.
“It’s absolutely essential to be around competitor organisations so that we can network and share competitive conversations. It’s really important for us to be here.
“The atmosphere here is great, there are a lot of positive people from swim teachers who have some very basic queries – and it’s great that they can come to us and ask those – to large operators who are looking to change and develop their swim programmes and giving them the opportunity to come to spend some time with us looking at where we’re going and discussing our developments.”
