AstralPool has launched its new range of outdoor showers, an essential element to enhance a swimming pool experience. The new series offers minimalist, contemporary designs made from high quality materials that ensure excellent functioning in addition to an elegant, modern look.

A LOAD OF HOT AIR

Opening windows or using fans to circulate humid air, heavily laden with chemicals will do little to overcome the problem of condensation in domestic or commercial indoor pools.

“What is needed is an efficient adequate dehumidification system to maintain the correct swimming environment, inhibit the growth of mould and mildew that will eventually establish itself throughout a facility,” explained Jamie Adams, the company’s Managing Director, who added that the influx of uncontrolled ambient air itself will further cause an imbalance of the pool atmosphere.

Golden Coast has Calorex ‘Delta’ and ‘Variheat’ integrated environmental control systems that create the perfect cycle in large high use domestic and commercial facilities. The system uses heat recovery technology to regenerate extracted warm air that is then used to maintain the temperature of the pool water. This, in turn, reduces the

energy demands and the need for duplicating air control systems. In addition, the Delta 14 and 16 have been recognised as compliant with the UK government’s Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme, by meeting the stringent requirements in terms of providing low carbon and energy efficient environmental control systems for swimming pool halls. The ECA scheme enables pool operators using these units in any installation to benefit from 100% write-off against taxable profits for the first year.

For smaller commercial pool halls and especially for domestic indoor pools, again a range of single and three phase ‘plug-‘n-go’ Calorex and Monitair dehumidifiers, wall or floor mounted within the hall or mounted externally, are available from Golden Coast.

GEOBUBBLE LAUNCHED AS EXTENDED LIFE POOL COVER MATERIAL

Launched at both the Aquanale and Piscina 2011 trade exhibitions this autumn the new innovative bubble shape from Plastipack is scientifically designed to increase the expected lifespan of swimming pool bubble cover material by 25%. Plastipack is a specialist independent manufacturer of pool and water storage cover materials sold in roll form.

Created through research and development, the GeoBubble technology is specifically designed for use in swimming pools and sets a new benchmark for all other swimming pool cover materials. Focusing on understanding how swimming pool bubble cover material works and how it can be improved their bubble design has been refined in collaboration with two British university partners.

Two bubbles are joined together by a thick waistline structure, resulting in a larger footprint area that is more resistant to air expansion. By reducing the stress on the material this leads to greater product lifespan. In comparison to a traditional bubble’s weakest points, the material is 50% thicker and this thicker material will take longer to breakdown meaning the product will last longer. GeoBubble technology lasts longer as it has been developed to be more resistant to ultraviolet light and chemical attack which leads to premature failure in the traditional bubble shape.
