How to apply for your course if you are outside the EU/EAA
Step 1
Visit
www.hackney.ac.uk where you can download an application form and guidance notes or you can use our online application system. To request an application pack contact our international office on +44 (0)20 7613 9567.
Step 2
The college will need the following supporting evidence along with your completed application form:

• Your qualifications/ certificates* and any necessary electronic portfolio of your work for Art and Design and other practical courses.
• Evidence of English Language test score (for example IELTS/TOEFL etc.)
• An academic reference from your previous educational establishment.
• Your personal statement **.
• Copy of the photo and identity pages of your passport and visa and UK identity card if you already have one.
*Certificates must be the Examination Board certificates and Awards. School issued statements of result or Certificates of Attendance are not acceptable. **Written personal statement of 250 words to explain why you would like to study your chosen course and what your career aspriations are. The tutor will use this to assess your relevent experience.

Step 3 Once we have received your application with all your supporting evidence we will assess your application within 14 days and send you either an:
Unconditional Offer: If you meet all the course
requirements and we can offer you a place at the college, an unconditional letter will be sent to you.
Interview invitation: If invited to attend an interview for one of our courses you will need to bring your qualifications and reference as listed in step 2. If successful, you will be issued with an unconditional offer letter.
Unsuccessful offer: If your application/interview is unsuccessful, we will write to inform you about our decision.
Step 4
Once you receive an unconditional offer and want to accept the offered place: You will need to provide us with the following:
• Passport number. • £10 for your Confirmation of Acceptance for studies (CAS) letter.
• Payment in full of your tuition fees. (See the International course fees list).
• Evidence of your living cost and/or for your dependants as appropriate i.e. show you have enough money to cover your course fees and monthly living costs (also known as maintenance).
Once you have accepted the offer and paid the course fees the college will issue you with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS letter).
Step 5
Nowapply for your visa Take the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letter with valid passport and bank statements to the British Embassy or High Commission in the country you live to apply for entry clearance to the UK as a student.
Step 6
Enrolment Once you have been issued a student visa and we receive confirmation of this, you will be invited to enrol at the College.
