Visa Information for International students
Hackney Community College is an approved sponsor for international courses. We hold the Tier 4 Highly Trusted Sponsorship license under the UKBA (UK Border Agency) Points Based System for overseas students.
International students must study on a full-time course to be eligible for a student entry clearance/ visa. For entry clearance purposes a full time course is considered to be 15 guided learning hours or more per week.
Adult students will be required to study a minimum of a Level 3 course on the Common European Framework of Reference.

In order to be eligible for a visa, all Tier 4 students must have a level 2 in English Language (this is equivalent to GCSE level).
If you want to study English, you must apply for a course at level B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference. This will be subject to exemptions for students sponsored by overseas governments and for students on pre-sessional English language courses which prepare you for Higher National Diploma, Foundation Degree and full degree courses.
Please make sure that if you require a visa, you apply at the earliest opportunity. All applications need to be made at a UK mission in your country (e.g. embassy, high commission or consulate). You can find information on Tier 4 visa applications, guidance notes and updates on the UK Border Agency (UKBA) website:
