Winner of the 2008 World Series MVP award, Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels and wife, Heidi were on the red carpet in September as part of their annu- al fund raising campaign called “Diamonds and Denim,” which raises funds for The Hamels Foundation. The foundation gives thousands of dollars to schools in the city as well as to children in Africa. This was the third annual installation of the event, which took place at the Crystal Tea Room with more than 850 people in attendance. It included both silent and live auctions, and several members of the Phillies were in attendance.
