Delaware County


In the spring of 2011, Delaware County’s Brandywine Conference and Visitors Bureau launched its “You Don’t Need to "Stay’ in Philly to 'Play’ in Philly” ad campaign, which was based on research that showed, on an average, the rates of hotels, B&Bs and meeting places in Delaware County were less than those within Philadelphia. The campaign did so well in driving significant web- site traffic, calls and bookings that is being contin- ued into 2012.


Tore Fiore, executive director of Delaware County’s Brandywine CVB, noted, “We’re continuing this campaign because saving hundreds of dollars on rooms, taxes and parking means visitors can pock-
