Do you have TITO?
No we do not offer TITO as we make use of Smartcard coinless technology at our properties.I would say possibly the main reason for going this route has been the fact that we operate a fair amount of “legacy product” on our gaming floors that are still to this day very popular. We have been able to offer a coinless environment with smartcard technology on all machine types whether they operate on SAS 4 or ASP, EFT or AFT and that has been the most significant advantage for us.
What is the approximate breakdown of slot machine by Manufacturer – and what are the latest machines that are causing a stir on your floors?
We make use of several of the big slot machine manufacturers across all of our gaming floors with Aruze, Aristocrat and IGT making up the biggest share of the market.
Manufacturers represented on our floors include: AGI; Aristocrat; Aruze; Atronic; Bally; IGT; Konami and WMS. In terms of current product making a stir on our floor I would have to say it is the multi- line product from Aristocrat, Bally’s I-deck and U-spin as well as the new multi-line video product and spinning wheels introduced by Aruze.
How do you maintain your portfolio of machines - Centrally or by location? And what is your policy on buying new machines?
Strategic plans, targets, performance and purchases of machine are done centrally but with continuous input from all group properties to ensure that individual company goals are met. There are some policies around how we purchase product but as to what product we purchase, we do not have a specific policy, what I would say is that our decisions on product we purchase is

How closely do you work with your marketing team on slot promotions?
There are two main areas I get involved in with our various marketing teams within the group from a promotions perspective.
The first would be from a strategic position where I would assist as part of a team “think tank” to conceptualize and develop a promotion and secondly I would then work with the various slot management teams, gaming system suppliers to ensure that we have the tools to make the promotion happen from a technology perspective.
An example of this would be our “Juggernaut Mystery” where the concept was born from such a think tank and then I was tasked with getting our gaming system provider to develop the software to support the concept.
Finally, When you are not at work – how do you relax?
There are many things I enjoy doing but I enjoy spending time with the family, time in the bush bird watching and game viewing and last but not least a good game of golf would be how I would spend most of my free time.
