CARDIFF trampolining star Ty Swadling took a convincing step to representing his country at the world championships, taking out top honours at the national club championships in Hobart.

Trampoline Sports Club, trumped some of the best trampoliners Australia has to offer to come home with the level 10 men’s championship. “It was a great result in Hobart, becoming the level 10 national champion,” he said. “I had a pretty solid plan going into the championships and I managed to hit some good routines.
“It was also a really competitive field.
With the exception of maybe one or two, I was competing against the best in Australia so, to come home with a win, is just great.” With hardly a chance to savour his victory, Swadling is already back on the training circuit, preparing for the Australian championships in Adelaide in September.
“I’m basically in and out of training camps from now on,” he said.
“I’m heading down to the Australian Institute of Sport next week for a camp and I’ll be also going back and forth to Adelaide before the Australian championships because that’s where the national coach is based.” Swadling said his performance at the national championships would determine if he won a spot on the Australian team to compete at the world championships in Birmingham, England in November and he was hopeful of

getting the nod. “The Australian team gets picked in October after the national championships and I’m pretty confi dent I’ve done enough so far to get a look-in into the team. I’ll just have to perform well in Adelaide.”
