WELCOME Page An exceptional show, but time will tell
I think this year’s Sign & Digital UK was an exceptional show although I can’t quite put my finger on why when there are still some companies out there that are short on work. Was it because people had time on their hands, or were they there to buy? We will find out in due course, by then my interest may have moved on to something else. A kind thank you to the Hampshire Sign Makers for their time and help with our
feature that runs between pages 56 and 72. As the weather was warm at the time of my planned visit to Hampshire sign makers I decided to start by visiting companies in Bournemouth. I'd arranged to visit two or three and then have an hour on the beach. It was while I was having my breakfast the following morning that I was told Bournemouth is in Dorset rather than Hampshire. Why didn't someone tell me earlier? So rather than waste the work I'd done in Bournemouth, I’ve included Bournemouth in with our Hampshire ones this issue and I will visit Dorset again soon. Tom Thomson from Ecosse Signs contacted me to ask when I will be visiting
Scotland. Now loyal readers might remember that I went to Scotland two years ago, but as he's keen and wants to be in the magazine, I will arrange another visit. I'll dig out my kilt again along with my woollies and scarf for the visit. So if our Scottish cousins care to get in contact, I would greatly appreciate your call. Finally, an apology from Sign Update for an incorrect article we published on
page 82 in the April issue concerning Simplex’s Open Days. This error was down to Sign Update and in no way the responsibility of any contributor.
