Metamark Metaflex now available in 20 colours
Colourful banners are among the most popular products produced by the signing and allied industries and often represent the first port of call for customers enquiring after an effective and inexpensive means of promoting an event or enterprise. Banners are, of course, widely produced by digital means these days
but there remains a need, and it’s growing, for cut and applied production too, particularly among those signmakers who choose to work with semi-finished banners that would be difficult, if not impossible to transport through a typical, roll-to-roll inkjet printer. Ordinary cut and applied self adhesive vinyl can, on occasions, be
problematic if applied to banner substrates as plasticisers can compromise the performance of the adhesives used and cause premature failure. Plasticisers are what impart the highly desirable flexible nature to filmic PVC products. Use Metamark’s Metaflex cut and applied vinyl though and the finished banner product will have no such problems.
Metaflex is formulated and designed to be cut, weeded and applied
just like everyday self adhesive vinyl but that’s where the similarities end. Expressly engineered for application to PVC banner substrates, Metaflex features a super-soft face-film and a specialised adhesive system designed to resist plasticiser migration and its unwelcome effects on the reliability of the finished banner. The super-soft face film at the heart of Metaflex is 80 microns thick
and so easy to handle and apply. It has an attractive, semi-matt finish and the stock colours in which it’s available are bright, resist fading well, and can be layered to create composite designs. The adhesive system used on Metaflex is acrylic based and has a very manageable low initial tack that builds over time to the strong ultimate bond the product features when the finished article is in service throughout its three-year life expectancy. Metaflex can be used effectively with most scrimmed PVC banner
materials, coloured or white, and is particularly impressive when applied to awnings and canopy constructions. The material is available ex-stock from Metamark and now comes in 20 colours in various roll widths up to 1220mm. Free samples of the product are available upon request from
