FIXTURES & FITTINGS Take a fresh look at how you create your signs

Design is key when creating an attractive signage system. It really does pay to be imaginative in the choice of fittings and materials you use to create your signage. Fairfield Displays & Lighting offers a huge choice of styles, materials, design and finish, all manufactured to the company’s exacting standards. To create directory and

multi-panel information signs with real design impact, go chunky: use Fairfield Displays & Lighting’s range of easy to install 6mm rods. Rods can be fixed directly to the wall and finished off with attractive end caps. Fairfield rods are supplied with threaded ends in 500, 1000 & 1500 mm lengths making so that longer lengths are easily created.

Rods can be made a main style feature of a sign by using panels pre-drilled with 6mm holes enabling them to be mounted on the rods. The size of the panel is only limited by the imagination of the sign maker as supports can be tailored to fit. Acrylic panels can be digitally printed in full colour and look stunning when they

recommends a WM06 fitted to the wall (or fix to a suspended cable or rod display using CH01 or RH01). These fittings will hold panels up to 3mm thick. The Fairfield specialist keyhole fitting has a small ridge on the front which locks in through a keyhole in the panel and ensures that your sign stays in place, making it difficult to remove unless you know how.

overhang vertical rods. Supports can hold panels up to 20 mm thick making it possible to use original materials. The simplest and cheapest way to fix the sign to the rod

system is to use a panel clamp. Standard panel clamps can take panels up to 10 mm thick. This style has an advantage as bays can easily be created with a common rod in the centre with panels linked with double sided clamps. This is perfect for large directory systems as it can reduce the cost of the installation and create a compact design. For signs that need to be changed on a regular basis without the necessity of Allen keys or similar, Fairfield Displays & Lighting

32 Sign Update ISSUE 129 MAY/JUNE 2011

“During Sign UK, I literally spoke to hundreds of visitors and one point came up time and time again,” states Janice Fairfield. A signmaker who has recently started using Fairfield products,

explained: “I really did not realise now much easier the Fairfield fittings are to fix. The three part fitting makes a lot of sense, as I can use a robust screw to fix the boss to the wall and I can see what I am doing, then all I need to do is to screw the wall support onto the boss, the slight difference in price is more than made up with the reduce labour time it takes to install.” Visit www.fairfielddisplays.co.uk to see the full range of sign

fixings or telephone 08451 665201. Ask about the free design and visuals service that can make the difference to the sign trade when closing an order.
