“History in the making!” A football shirt can span decades, everyone remembers their favourite jersey from days gone by, the Liverpool shirt in the 80’s and 90’s perhaps? Or the grey Manchester United shirt even? Well creating a shirt can be a difficult if not enjoyable process for the team behind the scenes, the evolution of development from a heavy cotton jersey to the more lightweight materials we see in modern football has been a natural progression, one in which we here at Accrington Stanley are looking to take one step further. Just as footballs and football boots have become an essential piece of equipment then it naturally follows that the kit should do the same. In November 2010, the retail department began the tender process for the new kit, it goes without saying that Accrington Stanley attracted big names such as Puma & Nike, but even in the early rounds of discussions we saw the promise of a new company to the market. Samurai Sportswear are extremely experienced in Rugby, Cricket and Hockey and renowned for their quality and their advanced technology. Having selected Samurai to take us to the next level, we decided that our new kit should meet the following four key criteria: 1. Match our tradition and heritage. 2. Have the latest cutting edge technology. 3. Be completely bespoke. 4. Be stylish and desirable. So take a look at the picture above. Our players will be unique next season, wearing a shirt that is completely state of the art, a technical garment that even the likes of Manchester United will be looking to wear in the coming years and when you see a Pro-fit shirt on Wayne Rooney in 2014, you will be able to say that you saw it first at Accrington Stanley in 2011. Or even better, you could own a piece of history today! What a position. At the time of going to press The Reds were on 65 points with 4 games to go and equal on points with three of the play off contenders with only goal difference keeping them out of a play-off position. The remaining games leave their plight in their own hands as Barnet and Burton, although locked in a relegation battle should not have the quality to trouble Stanley. Bradford are safe but their season would appear to be over. The big one will be against promotion rivals, Shrewsbury, away on Easter Monday 25th April. Come on Stanley !

Jesus loves you, but everyone else thinks you're a complete plonker.

There was an old man of the isles

Who suffered severely from piles

Where’s everybody going? They’re all going to

The Great Harwood Show. Think we'd better have a look!

He couldn’t sit down Without a deep frown

So he had to row standing for miles.
