Horses Showing This Year: The Splash Factor, Remember To Be Good

Coach: Anne Gage

Classes I show in: Halter, Showmanship, Western Plea- sure, Horsemanship (new event I wanted to take a shot at for 2011)

Favourite Song: I have so much music I love its hard to have an all time favourite. At the moment, I’d have to say: The Only Exception by Paramore. Oh and a “horse show favourite”- I hope I get it- from A Chorus Line!

Favourite Movie: Moulin Rouge, and Land Of The Lost

Favourite Food: Pasta

What Makes My Horse and I A Great Team?:

The Splash Factor: Well, I think that Meadow and I make such a great team because she was my first horse and we’re so in tune to each other because of the partnership we’ve always

times. Every time I ride him, our understanding of each other gets stronger. I love that he has such a unique personality! Although he can be a bit lazy, he’s always got an ear out for me, making sure to respect the mutuality in our partnership. He can have his stubborn moments at times, but in the end he always pulls through for me; as I do the same. That’s what I love most about us!

Why I Show:

Oh I could write a book about why I show my horses, but it all comes down to building a strong solid relationship with your horse, because he/she is kind of like your partner in crime. Showing establishes the fact that it’s a team effort, and teaches amazing discipline in such good fun! I show because I enjoy the atmosphere- the energy and emotion from when you step out of your trailer in the mornings, to when you set foot in the pen with your horse, to when you retire back to your trailer to start all over again tomorrow. I love the amazing times with all my friends (although not the early hours) and the people I’m surrounded by. I find also that showing is

Happy Holidays everyone!!!!!

had. She is such a queen, and I think she loves showing just as much as I do! She is so easy to show with, and is one of the most intelligent horses I have ever come across, and always keeps me on my toes. She’s always right beside me ready, keen, and attentive at every step, no matter what happens.

Remember To Be Good: I think Leo and I are a great team because I find I connect with him in the weirdest ways some-

amazing for goal setting, because it’s such an amazing feeling to get that ribbon, or that extra few points. It’s that little piece of gratification for your hard work.

Goals: To win a “gold horse” in western pleasure and showman- ship in Area 3, to make the NYATT team and go to Congress :), to be the OQHA Queen, and to make every show season more memorable than the last!
