With about 100 stalls rented, there was a very good turnout, in spite of the cold and damp weather.
The winners of the magnetic horse boots, donated by The Best Bandages, were Colie Florica and Michelle Mailhiot.

And kudos to the members who stepped up to learn how to scribe at this show, and then each took a turn at actually doing it – Anne Pearse, Tom Cudahy and Michelle Mailhiot. They will tell you, it’s easy and very educational, and with the two judges we had for this show, it was also a lot of fun, so you might consider taking a shot at it next year.
And on a personal note, I’d like to thank everyone who helped me around, or pushed my wheelchair over the weekend. Although I was unable to ride with my broken leg, I enjoyed scribing and helping in the show office and just hanging out with you all.
Our year-end Awards Banquet on November 6th was another great success, with a fun auction and delicious buffet din- ner. Our banquet committee – Dana Van Alstine, Lacey Siemonson, Berenice Fletcher, Julie Bacon and our very enter- taining M.C., Dan Fletcher - deserves a huge thank you.
awarded the Regional Affiliate Finals for 2012, for the first time since 2007. As we move forward, we will be looking for mem- bers to step up and assist in making this a memorable show.
The Brian Heaton Memorial Award was presented to Larry and Lynne McDougall for their lifetime of commitment to the reining industry, and for being such exem- plary role models. The McDougalls are outstanding candidates for this prestigious award.
The beginning of November brought some exciting news – Ontario has been
It looks like a number of our members are going to be listed in the Reining Canada Top Ten and NRHA Top Twenty for 2010, and details will be published in the next issue of The Rider, once they are finalised. With the impressive performances at Congress, along with the Regional Affiliate Finals placings, our members did us proud once again this year.
I hope you all enjoyed your year of showing and camaraderie with the absolute best group of people – Ontario reiners. Stay safe and see you at the Annual General Meeting on February 13th.
