As if we needed more encouragement to order from the decadent side of the menu! But much
Dining Out
like the convenient excuse of antioxidants that we use to allow ourselves an extra half-bottle of
wine, this month’s license to grill will surely serve us (and many others) well.
On Thursday, April 30, feel free to indulge your epicurean palate at any of the participating restau-
for Life
rants, bars, coffee houses and nightclubs in this year’s Dining Out for Life (DOFL) event. This roster
of charitably-inclined establishments has graciously agreed to donate a minimum of 25 percent of
their profits during the event to The Center’s HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs.
2009
Dining Out For Life was created in 1991 by an ActionAIDS volunteer in Philadelphia. Only two
years later, DOFL grew into an international event that was able to help AIDS Service Organizations
around the country. Now proudly celebrated in more than 46 cities, the event continues to grow by
an average of five to six cities annually. From just one night of “generous dining,” approximately $3
million a year are raised to provide assistance to local agencies throughout North America like our
LGBT Center.
For questions and more information, contact Event Manager Donnie Luehring at 619.497.2920
ext. 106 or at dluehring@thecentersd.org. “Dine out” for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, cocktails—
for any reason you can come up with! Even a bottle or two of antioxidants! Just make sure you do so
at the following places!
