Review G2E LAS VEGAS 2014 - PART 1
TCSJohnHuxley unveiled Gaming Floor Live and its multitude of interconnected products on the floor of the G2E show
TCSJohnHuxley showed a bumper crop of new products at the G2E show in Vegas, though the centrepiece was unmistakably Gaming Floor Live, a central hub to many of the new developments unveiled at the event. “It’s great for the team to see the development stage of so many projects coming to fruition as we begin to release products to the market,” stated TCSJohnHuxley’s Tracy Cohen. “Gaming Floor Live is the first product that really examines the dealer experience, showing exactly what a pit manager sees on the floor in real-time. We have begun integrating many of our existing products into the Gaming Floor Live platform and in 2015 we will be announcing new developments that will also add further functionality to the Gaming Floor Live system.”
Gaming Floor Live provides a constant flow of gaming data feeds into the system offering insights to the performance of dealers, tables and game speeds, highlighting areas and processes that can be improved upon in real-time. With over 800 tables already installed in Macau, Gaming Floor Live is maximising efficiencies on the casino floor and improving dealer speed to increase revenue.
Designed as a modular system, Gaming Floor Live is scalable and offers configurations geared to create an increase of the casino floor’s turnover. Using a robust, universal platform with newly developed protocols, enabled equipment from TCSJohnHuxley or other manufacturers can feed important data into the system for analysis. Using Gaming Floor Live’s real-time insights and additional modules it is possible to increase a table’s hands / spins / dice per hour, customer engagement and bet frequency and in turn help to drive revenue increases.
TCSJohnHuxley has brought several of its existing products under the Gaming Floor Live banner, with SuperNova now GFL Bonusing, a powerful Floor Wide Event and Mystery Progressive platform that can adapt to almost any table game. At the same time, TCSJohnHuxley’s displays also move under the same umbrella, now to be known as GFL Media. Connecting all its eggs to the one basket, TCSJohnHuxley is underlining just how pivotal Gaming Floor Live now is to all its future activity.
Unveiled at G2E, this was the first opportunity to explore Gaming Floor Live in action and we sat with TCSJohnHuxley’s Andy Saunders as he demonstrated the system, beginning with the Pit

Desk. A simple login allows access to the browser-based system, which shows a graphical representation of the tables on the casino floor. Colour-coded tables reveal their operating status, with green and red flagging tables as either optimal or weak, according to dealer performance as rated against betting times, deal times and payout times. GFL enables operators to grade their dealers, recording average times for the games dealt to give fair metrics over 15 deals.
Due to the fact GFL is browser-based, operators can view the results on PCs, laptops and tablets, on-site or remotely. Floor managers can oversee the pit managers and casino managers can review the floor managers, taking accountability right up the chain. And critically, at no point does TCSJohnHuxley have access to the information generated by GFL. “We don’t own any of the data,” underlined Mr. Saunders. “We simply facilitate the capture of the data, which is viewed and stored by the operator. We straightforwardly provide factual information to enable operators to optimise their tables.”
Information at the table is entered via a dealer console and while this inputting needs to be factored into the dealer metrics at the outset, the bump in time falls away quickly as dealers become accustomed to the system, and it’s incremental when compared to the value of the information generated. Demonstrated in Vegas with the tables connected to an Angel shoe, real- time baccarat information was fed back into a GFL system that will also incorporate data from roulette and sic bo by the end of the year. According to the initial figures from test installations, GFL has seen a considerable increase in the number of decisions per hour - a
major leap in optimisation whatever the size of the operation.
In addition to Gaming Floor Live, TCSJohnHuxley also introduced its Blaze suite of products at G2E, featuring the latest LED gaming surface technology that delivers brilliance and excitement to table games. Unlike traditional illuminated tables that consist of a light box with many individual light bulbs requiring frequent replacement, the new Blaze LED technology is energy efficient and has many thousands of hours operating life. Game play is uninterrupted and regular maintenance limited.
On show at G2E were Roulette Blaze, Big 6 Blaze featuring the new LED Big 6 wheel and Sicbo Blaze. With all these games, players and gaming staff instantly benefit from seeing all winning numbers and sections of the game layout clearly highlighted. For further impact, animated game attract sequences automatically run until ‘No More Bets’ is signalled to the system. With the improved visibility of winning sections, pit bosses and security staff can easily monitor game procedures. The flexibility of the system allows casinos to include their own graphics and branding, if required.
Cath Burns, Group CEO concluded: ”Gaming Floor Live provides a ground breaking solution for operators and their table games. For the first time it is possible to provide the same levels of real- time data collection that operators currently enjoy from their slot systems. You only have to think about the multiple vendors products there are on a single table that stand alone unable to connect and interface, to understand how compelling the GFL solution is.”
