Austria’s APEX gaming couldn’t have hoped for a better first G2E event for the technology-focused gaming company
Austria’s APEX gaming enjoyed a wholly successful G2E with overwhelming feedback after making its debut appearance at the Vegas show. Making the biggest impact on the stand was the new iDROP. “Everybody who saw it wanted to have it,” noted Johannes Weissengruber, CEO and founder of APEX gaming. The iDROP is a money-management accounting device for table gaming that unites live gaming with slots for ticket-in, ticket-out.
Using the iDrop, players no longer need to exchange cash or tickets for jetons at the cage. Instead, players can exchange cash or tickets for jetons directly at the live gaming table. The croupier simply places the bills and tickets (in a bundle) into the iDROP. The iDROP does the rest. If the player does not wish to exchange the full ticket amount for jetons – no problem: the croupier prints out a new ticket for the remaining value. If the player wishes to cash out, then the croupier prints out a ticket in exchange for the jetons.
The operator has a whole host of benefits as well – the cash and tickets are securely validated (fraud notes are instantly rejected). The operator has an instant overview of the amount of cash in the iDROP – there is no ‘shrinkage’ – as the amount of money received by the iDROP exactly matches with the amount inside the unit.

The next table game component solution on show at the APEX gaming stand was the Shuffle King II. Specifically designed for poker, the Shuffle King II is an ideal electronic card shuffler. The cards are simply placed into the Shuffle King while the shuffle is governed by a random number generator. In order to further increase randomisation, the cards are completely shuffled on two separate occasions with the whole process taking just over thirty seconds.
APEX has made a name for itself especially in Europe with the Pinnacle gaming machines that house a great variety of games (including the ‘Multi Magic’ and ‘Hot Magic Fruits XXL’ games series). APEX gaming has taken this a step further (note that the APEX motto is ‘the next level’ with the corporate philosophy to take gaming to the next level). The APEX PLAYER STATION (APS) unites slots gaming with electronic and live table gaming. The APS offers four table games as standard. This fully automatic player station incorporates a roulette wheel. Three other table games are available – Sic-Bo, Bacarrat and Quikker. It is possible to combine this terminal with another three roulette tables, so that players can bet on four different wheels. The next innovation is to include the slots games within the APS – providing gaming choice previously unheard of in the industry.

directions, at different levels, so-to-speak. Firstly with the choice of four table games, including our patented Quikker game. Secondly, to enable the APS to be linked with up to four roulette wheels – both live and electronic wheels – so that the player can choose which wheel he or she wishes to play upon. And thirdly by including our slots games on the APS. Players will want to spend more time on the APS given the sheer gaming entertainment here. Furthermore, we noted how operators wish to combine the APS with our Pinnacle gaming machines – as this provides a natural gaming synergy”.
APEX gaming has many years of experience in the server-based gaming (SBG) segment. This underlines even more to visitors of the strength in depth of APEX gaming – that a medium-sized Austrian gaming company can be so innovative. APEX is doing really well in Peru and Colombia in partnership with DRGT, which supplies its jackpot system to complement APEX gaming machines in both markets. APEX works also directly with operators in the Caribbean and Panama.
Mobile gaming players themselves can enjoy the APEX games thanks to APEX MOBILE SLOTS. These games can be applied to tablet games – and so be a useful addition to land-based gaming. Players can be handed tablets to play the APEX games for example at the bar or restaurant. The RFID technology allows players to simply enter credit on the tablet or ask the gaming staff to pay out winnings as well.
