For those interested in adventure,
there were plenty of options. The Gramlings offered hand on the throttle lessons operating their locomotives (all the available slots sold out). Mean- while, over at the airport, the vintage aircraft people did a brisk business sell- ing seats for flights over Owosso. In ad- dition to the three railroad night photo sessions, Lerro Productions also offered
two sunrise World War II photo shoots at the airport as well. Among the air- planes were B-17G Yankee Lady, B- 25D Yankee Warrior and C-47 Yankee Doodle Dandy, all from the Yankee Air Museum, along with a P-51C from the Commemorative Air Force and a 1929 New Standard D-25 biplane. It was a lot of fun having the other vintage vehi- cles available for photography as well.
Planning an event of this magnitude
is no easy task. Key members of the Steam Railroading Institute included Chief Mechanical Officer Kevin Mayer, former director David Shorter, book- keeper and finance manager Mary Lombardo, and event coordinator Terry Bush, along with numerous other vol- unteers who put in long hours.
