peat of the highly successful event held in Owosso in 2009, with the obvious dif- ference being the absence of a large Li- ma locomotive. Southern Pacific “Day- light” 4-8-4 No. 4449 made the trek in from Portland, Ore., five years ago, but the expense and logistics prevented a repeat performance. Nonetheless, this year’s event pulled in a crowd of over 10,000 people.
