Denise Garland is responsible for leading the group’s operations in line with its progressive international strategy. She was appointed the role in December 2012.


Garland is a chartered financial analyst and qualified accountant


with more than 12 years of experience of leading major projects in complex professional and financial services environments. Prior to Kiln, Denise qualified as a charted accountant with Ernst & Young and held a number of senior finance and operational post at Ernst & Young, Willis and the Man Group.


Garland says the highlight of her career so far has been coming back to the insurance industry with her appointment at Kiln.


“It’s a challenging time for the industry; understanding and supporting the changes taking place from the various market participants’ perspectives, is stimulating,” she says.


Her career aspirations now are to continue to gain breadth and


depth of knowledge in the insurance industry with the view of taking on NED roles in 10+ years’ time.
